BEL net up 92% to Rs 237 cr in Q2
Bangalore-based defence public sector, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), today reported a robust 91.8 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 237.3 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009 compared to the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Trent to hire 4,000 for Star Bazaar stores

That is the number we usually require and employ in Star Bazaar," Trent Managing Director Noel Tata told PTI on the sidelines of a retail summit today. The company is planning to open 11 stores by the end of next fiscal taking the total to 18. Tata also said the company is primarily focusing on the southern and western regions for grocery and FMCG items at present. Going forward, the company will look at options in the eastern region as well, he said. "On the grocery side, we are concentrating on the western and southern markets. However, we cannot ignore the eastern region. We have three Westside stores there and plan to open more of them. Similarly, we also have plans to open a few more Landmark stores selling books and music by FY12," he added. At present, there are 41 Westside and 12 Landmark stores pan-India.
