The Group, which is one of the largest rice processing companies, has taken further initiative of starting a mega project comprising of rice processing unit and 60 Mw biomass-based power plant. Lakshmi Group Chairman and Managing Director Balbir Singh Uppal, while welcoming the Union Minister and the chief minister said the rice processing facility at Khamano was the largest in the sub-continent. The Group has always adopted the latest technology from Satake Corporation (Japan) for rice milling, Schmidt-Seeger (Germany) for cleaning and handling, Cimbria (Denmark) for dryers and MFS & Time/Broke International for storage, he said.
